As great as breakfast with Kevin and Daniel and lunch with Jason were, the highlight of my day was spending some time along the Gateway Arch Riverfront in St. Louis at sunset and doing a Skype video chat with Stella.
My parents and others in the family were visiting Stella and the kids to say farewell (weird that I missed our goodbye party, huh?), and I thought it would be cool to show them exactly where I was.
With the help of my Sprint Mobile Broadband USB card, I was able to connect with Stella through Skype as I was scaling the steps beneath the Arch. I showed them the Mississippi River behind me, the Arch above my head, and Downtown St. Louis in the foreground. Eventually, I sat down on the beauitful green lawn and said hello to everyone.
I had nearly pressed on toward Kansas City (I’ve made it as far as Coumbia, Missouri) without stopping at the Riverfront. But something told me I’d regret that decision, and so I turned around and drove back to take in the scene.
I’m glad I did.
